Subsidy for a green roof in Oss
If you want to install a green roof in Oss, there is the possibility of obtaining a subsidy. You will have to meet some conditions:
- You submit the application for the grant before you start work. However, this cannot be done earlier than six months prior to the start date.
- The project must take place within a built-up area, such as a village center or urban neighborhood. You can see exactly where the fees are valid on the municipality’s website.
- The measures taken must produce a lasting improvement. Thus, they are not intended to be easily reversed.
- If you have previously received a grant for the same project, you are not eligible.
- A green roof should have a water collection capacity of at least 30 liters per square meter. We can, of course, tell you more about this.

Apply for the grant
The Municipality of Oss will check whether your application meets the required conditions. You will be notified within eight weeks.
If your application is approved, you will receive information about the exact amount you will receive (afterwards). You then have six months to implement the measure.
Once the work is completed, you should send the municipality photos of the work, the final result, the invoice from the performing company and proof of payment (copy of your bank statement). If everything is in order, we will transfer the subsidy amount to you.
Level of subsidy
How much subsidy you receive depends on the specific measure you take and where you live. In the city of Oss, you will receive a maximum of 30 euros per m2 of installed green roof.
Per measure you will receive a maximum of 5,000 euros in subsidy, of course you will never receive more subsidy than costs you have incurred.

The free roof inspection is actually very simple. You make an appointment and our specialist Gert-Jan will visit you in Oss to examine your roof. During this inspection we assess whether your roof is suitable for a green roof or what, if anything, needs to be adjusted to make it suitable.

The maintenance required depends on the type of green roof you choose. A simple green roof, such as a sedum mat, usually requires little maintenance, usually only twice a year. You can easily perform this yourself.
If you opt for a more extensive green roof with shrubs, plants and possibly even trees, it requires a bit more commitment.
In most cases, we can install a green roof within half a day or a full day, depending on the size of your roof. So you can quickly enjoy your green roof. After submitting your application, it usually takes about three weeks for us to get started. If hurry is required, we can always look at alternative options.
Yes, absolutely. A green roof can be installed throughout the year, even in winter. Only in freezing weather can it be difficult because then the greenery cannot be taken out of the ground at the nursery.
For the majority of cases, you can expect a green roof to be installed within one day or one half day, depending on the size of the roof.
