Subsidy for a green roof in Amsterdam
In Amsterdam, you can apply for a subsidy to build a green roof through the Green Subsidy Scheme. This scheme is intended for both individuals and organizations and encourages water collection and biodiversity in the city.
The subsidy can be up to 50% of the cost, depending on the type of green roof and water storage capacity. Roofs that store more water and contribute to biodiversity often qualify for a higher allowance.
Some conditions do apply. For example, the roof must usually have a minimum surface area and be able to store enough water. The structure of the roof and the type of planting are also often considered.
